NewCal Indian Almond Leaf Litter - AAA Grade (10 pack)
AAA grade Indian Almond Leaf Litter, also known as Catappa or Ketapang leaves. Available in packs of 10 leaves which are each 5-6” long. These natural leaves offer a multitude of benefits for your aquarium or vivarium. Renowned for their antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties, Indian Almond leaves help to create a healthy and balanced aquatic environment. Additionally, they release tannins, which lower pH levels and provide natural water conditioning, mimicking the conditions of the fishes’ natural habitat. These provide a similar benefit in vivariums as they break down over time and provide nutrients for the ecosystem.
Indian Almond leaves are commonly used for raising tadpoles due to their antimicrobial properties and tannins. Furthermore, they are popularly used to make blackwater extract, which helps to replicate the natural habitat of tropical fish and invertebrates.
Leaves are clean but are a natural product. We recommend sterilizing before use.
