This mix is formulated to prevent soil stagnation and promote healthy airflow creating a healthy and stable environment for your amphibians, reptiles, and plants. ABG mix also provides essential air pockets for microfauna, fostering biodiversity and ensuring a vibrant ecosystem. 

We started with the original recipe for this industry standard mix developed by the Atlanta Botanical Garden and then spent the better part of a year sourcing and testing to find the best examples of each ingredient possible. 

Tree Fern Fiber: Authentic New Zealand tree fern fiber

Horticultural Charcoal:  From Canadian hardwood and then screened to our specifications

Peat Moss: Canadian blonde peat moss, blonde peat is less broken down and retains original characteristics from the plant

Fir Bark: Fine bark chips screened to our specifications, this is true fir bark not pine as used in many blends

Milled Sphagnum: Starting with ultra premium grade long strand New Zealand sphagnum, we mill it in house to a fine and consistent granule size 

We blend in small batches and pack each bag by hand to ensure you always receive the exact mix you are expecting. There are no secrets in this mix.
